Police
Charlack has a rich history of police service to the community. Prior to the incorporation in 1945, the Village had alternating patrols provided by three different Police agencies, St. Louis County, St. Ann and Overland. In 1945, the Village was patrolled by Charlack's first own Sheriff accompanied by 2 deputies. The Police Station for these three officers was located in a 10 foot by 4 foot building located behind a gas station at the intersection of St. Charles Rock Road and Lackland. In the late 1970's, the Village purchased a new City Hall and Police Department from Mr. Bob Pingle, who was using the front of the building as a grocery store and the rear of the building for his family home.
All of the officers have received their training from the St. Louis County and Municipal Training Academy or from the Eastern Missouri Law Enforcement Training Academy. Each officer continues to receive ongoing training from both of these Academies. Our Police Department also belongs to several Law Enforcement organizations including the Missouri Police Chiefs Association, the International Police Chiefs Association and the North County Municipal Police Chiefs Association and the Major Case Squad.
The main goal of the St. Ann Police Department is to continue to provide for its residents, a safe environment to live, work and play.
